Welcome to my landscape, my name is Alex Maldonado and I am a self taught creative, born and raised in Los Angeles County. Living throughout the Los Angeles and traveling abroad has played a major role in my creativity. As a kid I spent many hours doodling on the back of my homework assignments, folders, napkins or pretty much any flat surface. My influences came from the deeply rooted Southern California cultures. Whether it was flipping through the pages of Thrasher magazine, or decoding the graffiti on the walls, or just being blown away by car clubs cruising, they were all creative seeds that eventually would fuel my creative world.

My journey began at SO-CAL Speed Shop as shop help, which in essence was sweeping floors and picking up after the fabricators/car builder. About a year or so into the job I was approached by the marketing director Tony Thacker about my illustrating skills. It bares mentioning he was not impressed, but 6 mos later he would approach me again with an opportunity to join the marketing/design team. This was officially the beginning of my creative career.
